ODENIGBO POLITICAL VANGUARD

In an historic and glamorous event, former Anambra State PDP Chairman, Hon Sir Chukwudi Umeaba led over 15,000 PDP members from 326 Wards in Anambra into APGA. The event was held on April 9, 2025 at Prof Dora Akunyiri Women Development Center, Awka.
Under a political movement named *Odenigbo Political Vanguard*, Umeaba, in conjunction with 21 former PDP LG chairmen organized this mass political cross-carpeting to endorse Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo's second term in office.
Explaining their reason for this mass decamping during the event, Hon Umeaba - a seasoned political mobilizer - said that Governor Soludo has marveled the world with unequalled developmental transformations in his 3 years in office. According to him, "we have not had it this good in Anambra since the State was created. His achievements are immeasurable and spread of his impact cuts across the 21 LG areas in the state. We are here as a support group to join the APGA family and ensure that we use our grassroot structure to give Gov Soludo second term in office". Agreeing with Hon Umeaba, Iyom Ifeoma Anyaka, the state Woman Leader of the vanguard said that they have come to use all their political structure to support Soludo's second term in office.
Inducting the members of Odenigbo into APGA, the party's state Chairman, Barr. Ifeatu Obiokoye told the decampees to feel free and enjoy the unique brotherhood spirit which APGA provides for its members. According to Obiokoye, APGA is one party where one can become anything without having to stay long time. "You people joining us today can become anything in APGA tomorrow, you are as good as any other APGA member", Obiokoye said.
Responding, the state governor, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR welcomed members of Odenigbo Political Vanguard into the APGA fold. He described the movement as a unique one, saying that he had never witnessed this kind of massive defection of one political party into another. He challenged them to use their grassroot structure and join the party and other support groups to win for APGA, not just the 326 wards but the 5720 Polling units in Anambra. "In this election we know we don't have serious challenger but we will context as if we have very serious challengers. We want to win not just 21/21, not just 326/326 but 5720/5720", Gov Soludo said.
And talking of the globally acclaimed developmental programmes of his government in his 3 years in office, the governor said Ndî Anambra have not seen anything yet. "We have not just grounded the beans and the flavour of the akàrà cake is already saturating the atmosphere. You can only imagine what will happen by the time the beans flour enters the baking pan", Soludo said proverbially. According to Mr Governor, his first term in office is just laying the foundation of the envisioned African Dubai Taiwan for Anambra.
The decamping event was glamourized in funfair by a tantalizing musical band from Aguata LGA.
Other dignitaries from the government team included the Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr Gilbert Onyekachukwu Ibezim, the state Chief of Staff, Chief Ernest Ezeajughi (Ikenga Orumba), Deputy Chief of Staff/Chief Protocol Officer to Mr Governor, Hon Chinedu Nwoye Glamour,
Special Adviser to Governor Soludo on Political Matters, Dr Alex Obiogbolu, Managing Director of Anambra State Waste Management Authority (ASWAMA), Mr Mike Ozoemena, and many others.
Chief Arc (Sir) Amobi Nwafor, board member,
of the movement described this massive defection as the simplest way of saying that Ndî Anambra are very happy with Governor Soludo's developmental feats.
